Job Description:

A scaffolder erects, dismantles, and maintains temporary structures (scaffolding) on construction sites and other facilities to provide safe access for workers and materials at height. Key duties include setting up scaffold components like poles, clamps, and boards; installing safety features such as guardrails; performing inspections; and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This physically demanding role requires strength, precision, and the ability to work safely at heights in various weather conditions, often as part of a team.  

Core Responsibilities
    • Erection and Dismantling:
      Assemble and take down scaffolding structures, including temporary supports, ramps, and barricades. 

    • Safety Checks:
      Inspect scaffolding for safety, structural integrity, and compliance with regulations, making necessary adjustments or repairs. 

    • Component Handling:
      Unload, carry, and set up scaffolding components such as pipes, boards, and clamps. 

    • Teamwork:
      Collaborate with construction teams and other workers to ensure safe working platforms. 

    • Worksite Preparation:
      Prepare work areas, identify hazards, and follow safety plans and work procedures.

    • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and work at height. 

    • Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring, constructing, and inspecting scaffolding for safety and quality. 

    • Teamwork: Work effectively with others in a construction environment.

    • Technical Skills: Reading blueprints, interpreting plans, and using various tools and equipment. 

Working Environment
    • Locations: Construction sites, industrial sites, and locations undergoing repair or demolition. 

    • Conditions: Outdoors in various weather conditions, at height, and physically demanding. 

    • Equipment: Wearing safety clothing and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
